東京都葛飾区柴又5丁目9-22 題経寺墓苑
5-9-22 (Daikyo-ji cemetery), Shibamata, Katsushika-ku, Tokyo
天明3年(1783)7月5日から8日にかけて、信州浅間山が大爆発を起こし、関東地方一体は大きな被害を受けました。ダムが決壊し、下流は大洪水となり、死者2000余名、埋没戸数1800戸に及びました。川の最下流にあたる当地域も水害が大きく、また川流死者も漂着しました。この碑は、柴又村の人々がその供養のために建てたものです。
Shinshu Asama volcano caused a massive explosion from July 5th to 8th, Tenmei 3rd (1783). Kanto region was deeply damaged. The dam broke down and the downstream became a flood, over 2,000 people dead and 1800 houses buried. This Shibamata area at the most downstream of the river was also flooded greatly, and bodies of dead people also had came down too. This monument was built by the people of Shibamata village for the repose of people passed away.
