『花吹雪』の彫像 | Sculpture "Hanafubuki (shower of blossoms)"

北村西望(きたむらせいぼう)は長崎県出身の彫刻家で、長崎平和公園の『平和祈念像』や国会議事堂内設置の『板垣退助翁』などの作品が有名で、文化勲章・紺綬褒章を受勲し、東京都名誉都民にも選定されています。水元公園の『花吹雪』は1961年の作品で、水元大橋の北側にあります。

Seibo Kitamura was a Japanese sculptor born in Nagasaki. He is known as the sculptor "Peace Statue" in Nagasaki Peace Park, "Itagaki Taisuke" in the Houses of Parliament. He received the Order of Culture, Medal with Dark Blue Ribbon, also been s awarded the title of the honorary citizen of Tokyo. Sculpture "Hanafubuki (shower of blossoms)" in Mizumoto Park is a 1961 work, located on the north side of Mizumoto Ohashi Bridge.
