この首塚は極楽寺の境内にあり、この付近から発見された多数の頭蓋骨を埋葬して、供養の碑を建てたものと言われています。

This Kubizuka (Grave of heads) is located in the precincts of Gokuraku-ji, and it is said that was built as a memorial monument burying many skulls which were found around here.
