街に降った雨は、下水管の中を流れて細田ポンプ所の沈砂池(ちんさち)に貯まり、そこからポンプで組み上げて放流渠(ほうりゅうきょ)・吐口(はきぐち)から新中川に放流されます。これにより、降った雨で街が浸水することを防いでいます。

The rain falls on the city flows through the drainage pipe and accumulates in the grit chamber of the Hosoda pump station, and is pumped to discharged through discharge conduit/outlet to the Shin-nakagawa River. This prevents the city from being flooded by the rain.
