竜爪槐(りゅうのつめえんじゅ)は、中国原産のマメ科の落葉高木で、5-15mの高さにまで育ちます。中国では幸福を呼ぶ木とされています。葛飾区は1985年に中華人民共和国北京市豊台区(ほうたいく)と友好都市提携を結んでおり、両国の交流10周年を記念して、1995年7月6日に豊台区により植樹された樹です。

The Japanese pagoda tree (Styphnolobium japonicum) is a species of tree in the subfamily Faboideae of the pea family Fabaceae, grows to a height of 5-15m. The tree is considered to bring happiness. Katsushika City established a friendship city relationship with Fengtai District, Beijing, China in 1985, This tree was planted by Fengtai District on July 6, 1995 to commemorate the 10th anniversary of exchange between the two countries.
